You know that moment when a vocal sits bare in the mix and every little waver, every harsh edge, just stares back at you? This bundle is a set of four plugins built to walk through those problems without making you read a manual first.
Shaping the note and the texture
VoxTune handles pitch correction with no noticeable delay, so it works while you're tracking or mixing. Beyond the usual tuning, you get direct control over voice color and vibrato. Want the performance tight but not glassy? Pull the color back a touch and let a little natural vibrato through. It feels less like auto-pilot and more like nudging a take into place. The other three plugins pick up from there: a channel strip for quick tone shaping, VoxVerb for a reverb that's voiced specifically around the vocal range, and a de-esser that targets the sharp bits without making the singer sound like they have a lisp.
What the bundle gets right
Each plugin is simple to use, covering the full vocal workflow from quick correction to creative tone shaping. The reverb sits the voice in a space without washing it away, and having the four tools designed to talk to each other saves you from hunting through a dozen unrelated plugins. It's the kind of focused, single-purpose kit that makes a vocal chain feel like a straight line instead of a pile of spaghetti.
A typical session with these four is more like building a sandwich in order than chasing your tail. I usually start with the dry vocal tracked in Logic, nothing on it. First insert: VoxTune. I set the key and pull the speed to about sixty percent, just enough to tighten the ends of phrases without stamping out the singer’s personality. Then I open the color knob a hair — on a female vocal I might push it slightly brighter, on a baritone I’ll leave it neutral or nudge it darker. That alone gets the take from “demo” to “pretty close.”
Next slot is VoxChain. I roll off a little low end around 80 Hz, add a gentle 3 dB bump at 3 kHz for presence, then dial the compressor so the loudest syllables only duck about 4 dB. The saturation stage sits at maybe twenty percent, just warming the body of the voice without obvious grit. After that I drop in VoxDeEss and set it to catch sibilance around 6.5 kHz; the reduction meter barely flickers, but the piercing edges disappear. Last in the chain, VoxVerb on a medium room preset, wet/dry at thirty percent, decay tightened to keep the tail from stepping on the next phrase. The whole thing takes about four minutes.
VoxTune belongs first in your signal chain
A few things I learned the hard way:
- Place VoxTune first in the chain, always. Feeding a tuned signal into compression and EQ sounds cleaner than trying to tune a processed vocal.
- VoxChain’s presets are decent starting points, but the default compressor attack is a touch slow for fast rap or spoken word. Shorten it to around 10 ms and the transients snap back.
- On a dense mix, pull VoxVerb’s low cut up to 600 Hz and the reverb stays out of the bass and drums while still gluing the vocal to the track. LANDR themselves built the algorithm around the vocal range, and that filter setting is where that design choice really shows.
- If you’re grabbing the landr vocal plugin bundle free download or a landr plugin torrent, confirm you’re getting all four components. Some older repacks only include VoxTune and VoxVerb, and you’ll be missing half the workflow without VoxChain and VoxDeEss.
Bottom line: spend the first afternoon running a single dry vocal through the chain in different orders. You’ll quickly feel which combination fits your voice, and that muscle memory makes mixing ten times faster later.
