Fix the file-name clash from old Sound Particles installs
The plug-in now goes by the file name Supertone Air, and a fix landed for anyone who had a conflict from a previous Sound Particles Air installation. It runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, requires macOS 10.13 or later, and expects 44.1, 48, or 96 kHz sessions inside Pro Tools AudioSuite.
Match the space, not just the tone
You capture a snippet of production dialogue, let the neural network analyze the acoustic scene, and apply that exact reverb and EQ fingerprint to your ADR. Decay, damping, and proximity controls let you nudge the result without breaking the illusion.
Export a profile or a WAV impulse
Save the learned space as an Air profile for later sessions, or bounce it out as a WAV file to use in any other reverb plug-in you already trust.
A re-recording mixer’s morning fix
Picture a dialogue premix on a low-budget feature. The director chose a lav planted inside a wool blazer, and the boom op caught mostly ceiling bounce. The ADR recorded in a booth sounds like a voiceover audition. Pick a clean two-second bite of the lav track where nobody steps on the line, capture it into Air, and apply it across the entire ADR scene. Now the replacement lines sit in the same woolly, slightly boxy space as the rest of the take. The supervising sound editor walks in, listens once, and nods—no notes.
Learn a room print from one clean slice of tone
- Grab the source. Highlight a patch of production dialogue that has room tone but no background chatter, no chair squeaks. Longer than a second, shorter than five.
- Capture. Hit Learn in the Air AudioSuite window. The neural network chews for a few seconds and populates the reverb and EQ settings.
- Apply to the ADR clip. Select the dry studio line, click Render. The processed file lands on your timeline with the scene’s acoustic signature baked in.
- Dial in reflections. If the match reads a touch too wet, pull back the late reflections fader. Need more chest? Nudge the proximity slider a half-step right. The direct, early, and late controls act like a mini reverb desk inside one pane.
- Save for the next reel. Export the profile, name it something a human can read—
DinerBooth_JudyLav_v2—and load it again when scene 42 comes up next Tuesday.
Why a torrented copy grabs the wrong name
Some users go looking for a supertone clear mac torrent or a supertone clear crack mac and end up with a plug-in that has a different file name. The installer puts Supertone Air in your plug-ins folder, not a generic “Air” bundle, so if your DAW scans an older Sound Particles Air component first, trash it manually and rescan. A few folk hunting a supertone air release find the plug-in doesn’t show up in real-time insert slots—that’s by design. It’s an AudioSuite processor, so you run it offline on selected clips, not as a track insert.
If the captured space sounds phasey or metallic, your source clip probably has too much movement—footsteps, cloth rustle, a distant siren. Choose a chunk of pure room tone or non-sibilant dialogue. And when the ADR line still feels detached after rendering, don’t just hit Learn a second time. Tweak the damping knob to roll off high-end fizz that the booth mic added, then re-render. Small moves there often do more than a fresh capture.
Exporting a WAV impulse is handy, but keep your sample rates lined up. Render at the session’s native rate—44.1, 48, or 96 kHz—or the exported impulse will stretch or truncate when you drop it into a convolution reverb later. Nobody needs a 96 kHz booth space inside a 48 kHz mix.
The plug-in file name was changed from Air to Supertone Air, and a fix landed for an installation issue that hit users who had Sound Particles Air installed.
- macOS 10.13 or later
- Apple Silicon or Intel processor
- Pro Tools AudioSuite
- Supports 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, and 96 kHz sample rates
Questions I actually get
Does Supertone Air work in real-time during playback?
No, it is designed for offline processing through Pro Tools AudioSuite, not as a real-time insert effect.
Can I use the captured reverb in other plug-ins?
Yes, you can export the captured acoustic space as a standard WAV file and load it into any convolution reverb you like.
Is there a way to share settings between projects?
You can import and export Air profiles, which saves the acoustic fingerprint for reuse across different sessions.
