Think of it like the buzzer system on a restaurant's back door—except the delivery guy might be the end of the world. That's the vibe of No, I'm Not a Human.
Premise — The world is ending and desperate strangers knock at your door. Your job is simple: let only humans in.
Gameplay — Each Visitor tells a story, and you decide their fate. A wrong call has consequences. It's part simulation, part anxiety horror from developer Trioskaz.
This build — Version 1.3.19 Rev2, wrapped with Wineskin for Apple Silicon Macs. The game runs natively on ARM architecture, tested on an M4 Mac mini.
Languages — The interface ships in Russian, English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Voice and audio are music only.
questions i hear a lot
Most people have the same three worries before they open the disk image. Let me save you some searching.
Does it need Windows or some extra launcher? No. The build is self-contained. What looks like a Wineskin wrapper is just the delivery method — you drag the app to Applications and double-click, same as any native Mac program. No Steam client required, no Bottles or CrossOver to install first.
Is the horror in your face, or more of a slow burn? Slow burn, mostly. There are no chase sequences or cheap jump scares every thirty seconds. The dread builds through dialogue and your own bad decisions. You stare at a face, listen to a voice, and wonder if you just doomed everyone. That quiet second-guessing is the whole point.
Can I switch languages after I start playing? Yes, but only after the first launch. The game needs that initial run in English. Once you're past the title screen, open settings and pick Russian, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, or either Chinese variant. The change sticks for every session after.
Steam Cloud save recovery arrives for Steam Deck
Version 1.3.19 is a hotfix release. Two things matter for everyday play.
- Steam Cloud save recovery on Steam Deck. For most Mac players using this standalone build, that part is invisible — your saves live locally inside the app bundle anyway, under
Steam/RUNE/427410/remote. But the fix means Trioskaz tidied up how save files get handled, which is good news for stability. - Minor Ukrainian localization fixes. You probably won't notice unless you switch the interface to a language that shares Cyrillic text handling. If you play in Russian, the tweaks mean fewer odd line breaks or missing characters in dialogue boxes.
Nothing changed about the core loop — still the same visitors, the same terrible choices, the same knot in your stomach.
Use the Fix file instead of redownloading
Three things tend to trip people up. Here is what actually works.
Game throws an error right at launch. Don't panic and don't redownload. Open the disk image again — there is a Fix file sitting right next to the app. Run it once, then launch the game normally. That clears up whatever permission or path hiccup the Wineskin wrapper tripped over.
Stuck on a black screen, or music only, no video. Happens when the game starts in a resolution your display doesn't like. Force-quit, then hold the Option key while launching. A small configuration window should appear where you can set a windowed mode and a lower resolution. Once the game loads, switch back to fullscreen from the in-game settings.
Language won't change, or the menu is gibberish. This is almost always because the first launch happened in the wrong language. Delete the app, re-drag it from the disk image, and launch in English first — even if English is not your preferred language. Change it afterward in settings and it sticks.
Bottom line: the game is light on system requirements and heavy on atmosphere. Most problems disappear after that first proper launch in English.
Bottom line: a tense, low-fi judgment call simulator that runs smooth on modern Macs.
Version 1.3.19 is a hotfix build. It patches Steam Cloud save recovery on Steam Deck and tidies up a few Ukrainian localization strings.
- macOS Tahoe
- Apple Silicon (ARM build)
- Tested on Mac mini 2024 with M4
